The department of Tarija is located in the southern part of Bolivia. Its temperate climate gives the region a Mediterranean flavor and in fact, Tarija is often called the Andalusia of Bolivia. The capital city, Tarija, is dotted with white stucco buildings and the surrounding countryside is covered with neatly groomed vineyards.
This tranquility combined with the hospitable inhabitants (called Chapacos) makes Tarija a perfect vacation spot. Be sure to tourWine country and the Laguna de Tajzara.
